So, it was my mission this week to get some pictures of Britton smiling. It's so frustrating because she really does smile all the time (like at 6am when you'd really rather her be sleeping but she's too cute to pass up), it's just so hard to catch it on camera. She is at such a fun age right now, she notices everyone around her and will look right into your eyes and "talk" in her sweet little voice. We are cherishing every moment with her as we know how quickly time passes and since we are planning on not having anymore children. I know we'll just never get these moments back. Luke is still being a great big brother and loves his baby sister. He calls her "Brippon", so of course, that's what we all call her now :)

Britton's first road trip!

Weekend before last, Britton and I rode with my Dad to West Virginia. His mom still lives there with his sister and we really wanted her to meet Britton. It was a quick trip, we left Friday and came back Sunday but it was so well worth it. My grandmother's name is Bertha Rose and that is who Britton is named after. Mom Mom is such a special person to all of us. She is one of the strongest, most independent people I know and I am so proud to have her as my grandmother. My Dad's father died at a very young age so my grandmother raised 2 kids on her own and still managed to go to school and get her master's degree. She then went on to have a career at the local high school as an English teacher and guidance counselor. Mom Mom knows the value of a good education and has instilled that in all of us. She continues to keep us all on our toes with discussions of kids, politics and even stocks...she doesn't miss a thing. Although Mom Mom is all of these things I have talked about above, there's one more thing about her I should probably mention. Don't ever try to beat Mom Mom at any game of cards, no, it's not her enhanced skill level that gets us every time, she is the sneakiest cheater we have ever laid eyes on!!! Matthew, Adam and I would play endless hours of Skip-Bo with her to no avail. It wasn't until years later that we were let in on her little secret :) When we started to catch her she would just get the sneakiest grin on her face...so funny! Cheating aside, we are so grateful to have her in our lives and she is truly an inspiration to our family. We love you, Mom Mom!

Britton!

Okay, so I feel really bad that I haven't taken more pictures of Britton :( I keep promising to myself that I'll do better. Hap asked me the other day when we were ever going to get a framed picture of her in the house. Isn't that sad?!? She is so cute right now, she's so interactive and loves batting her toys and is just full of smiles (although I haven't gotten a picture of that either). Every time I try to capture a smile she gets very serious and stares at the red light on the camera! She's still a tiny girl, at her 2 month appointment she weighed just 10 pounds. She eats like crazy though (way more than Luke ever did) and I honestly don't know where it all goes. Guess she has a great metabolism - lucky girl!

Crazy Luke

So, after we put Luke to bed the other night we kept hearing him talk and carry on for awhile. We ignored him thinking he would eventually just go to sleep, but when he didn't, we went up there and this is how we found him. He had all the lights on and had put his dress shoes on with his Clemson hat, he's such a mess! We couldn't help but laugh! Just thought I'd share...

Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas Day! We started out the morning at our house and opened presents from Santa. Gigi and Patchy Joe stopped by for just a minute to see what Santa had given Luke. Then, we went down to Mittie and Mac's for more present opening and a wonderful breakfast. After that, we came back to our house and Papoo stopped by for a visit. Finally, it was naptime and Luke and Britton slept all afternoon! We did, too, as a matter of fact! At about 4 we headed over to Gigi and Patchy Joe's house for even more present opening and a fabulous dinner. It was so fun with all the kids, I can't even imagine next year when they'll all be mobile...YIKES!

Luke coming down the stairs Christmas morning to see what Santa brought!

Britton's bib was bigger than she is!

Santa brought Gigi a Wii...she was SO surprised!

Breakfast with Santa and Christmas program!

Okay, please forgive me, I know it's been FOREVER since I've added any new pictures. I wish I could come up with a good excuse but I'm not even going to try :) We had a wonderful holiday season, Hap was off for about 2 weeks and we really enjoyed our family time. Luke was so much fun this year and really got into everything. He loved to talk about, read books about and sing songs about Santa, however he was literally scared to death when he saw him! We waited in line at the yacht club and he acted like he was going to sit on his lap the whole time but when it came right down to it he wanted nothing to do with it. Honestly, I can't say that I blame him...Santa still freaks me out! Britton was so cute and looked right into Santa's eyes - SO sweet!

The Cline family's here...we now take up a whole table with just baby gear!

Santa arriving at the JIYC!

Waiting on Santa!

Luke's school program - we were so proud of him - he did a great job!

This is the shirt he made at school, it's a baby in a manger in case you couldn't tell :)

Here is Luke at the "Happy Birthday, Jesus" party after the program.

Kathryn and I got the crazy idea to take all of the kids to the Holiday Festival of Lights this year. As you can see, 3 of us were wearing Baby Bjorn's which left Hap to chase Luke and Taylor around...aaaahhhhhh!!! It was fun but also very hectic. All we could do was laugh at ourselves :) Everything that could be forgotten was...Matthew realized he left all of his cash in his other pants (which he proceeded to tell every park worker as he was looking for an ATM machine - not one to be found, by the way) and after this picture our camera died and Matt and Kat forgot theirs. So, there were lots of photographic moments that were unfortunately not captured, oh well, there's always next year (if we dare)!
